Three restructuring specialists joins Admiralty Harbour

Mr. Michael Wong, Mr. Michael Fan, Mr. Heymens Lau (from left to right)

Three months into the new year, the Admiralty Harbour team continues to expand. In March 2021, Admiralty Harbour is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Wong, a former Manager in Deloitte’s restructuring practice in Hong Kong. Along with our previous hiring of Michael Fan, and Heymens Lau, our Capital Markets and Advisory team welcomes the addition of three seasoned veterans, bringing our Restructuring Advisory capacity and capability to new heights.

Michael Fan, a Director in Capital Markets and Advisory, is the first overseas professional hire of Admiralty Harbour. Mr. Fan joined Admiralty Harbour from the restructuring practice of AlixPartners in New York. During his time with AlixPartners, Mr. Fan participated in numerous Chapter 11 restructurings, covering various industries including retail, construction and engineering, corporate education and training. Mr. Fan is also an expert in Chinese bankruptcy restructuring court proceedings, having worked with Ernst & Young’s corporate restructuring team in China, where he participated in in-court restructuring of several large Chinese private enterprises. Mr. Fan holds an MBA degree from the Columbia Business School.

Mr. Michael Wong, an Associate Director in Capital Markets and Advisory, was previously a Manager in Deloitte’s restructuring practice. Mr. Wong is an expert in Hong Kong capital markets and offshore debt restructuring of Chinese enterprises. During his time at Deloitte, Mr. Wong mainly served Chinese clients and participated in numerous RTO and restructuring projects. Mr. Wong holds a BBA in Accounting and Management from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is a member of HKICPA.

Mr. Heymens Lau, an Associate Director in Capital Markets and Advisory, has been part of Admiralty Harbour for over a year. Mr. Lau joins Capital Markets and Advisory on a internal transfer to enhance execution capacity. Prior to joining Admiralty Harbour, Mr. Lau has many years of experience in audit with Ernst & Young and Deloitte. Mr. Lau is a member of HKICPA and the Institute of Compliance Officers of Hong Kong. Mr. Lau holds a BBA (Hons) in Accounting degree from The Hong Kong Polytechic University.
